We are excited to celebrate our 55th Birthday this month! Meals on Wheels of Lancaster was founded on April 24th, 1967. We started off with a mere 7 clients, 25 volunteers and two paid part-time cooks. Our meal costs amounted to a whopping $1.80 per delivery (which included one hot meal and one brown bag lunch). Over the years we have continued to expand our reach. In 2021 alone, we delivered over 200,000 meals to 1,000 individuals! We have 9 paid staff and are delivering in Hempfield, Lancaster City, Manheim Township, Willow Street, New Holland, Paradise, Christiana, and Parkesburg– just to name a few!
