Meals on Wheels of Lancaster needs volunteers to help wash dishes [United Way column]
During the pandemic, they never wavered in their services and continued to mobilize a volunteer force to safely meet the needs of our neighbors, many of whom who were feeling more isolated than ever due to COVID-19. Volunteers at Meals on Wheels are invited to participate in a variety of tasks, from food preparation to meal delivery. Currently, one of the organization’s most pressing needs is finding volunteers to serve as dishwashers in its bustling kitchen.

Meals on Wheels, Central PA Food Bank Launch Senior Food Box Deliveries in Lancaster County
Two nonprofits have begun field-testing a partnership in Lancaster County to reduce barriers to a crucial food security program for senior citizens. Last month, Meals on Wheels of Lancaster volunteers delivered more than 70 monthly food boxes from the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, bringing them to clients along with their regular meal deliveries. The boxes represented the first round of a six-month pilot program. If it goes well, the two nonprofits hope it can be expanded and replicated throughout the food bank's 27-county service area.
