Meals on Wheels Makes News

Recently, WGAL Channel 8 News dropped in at Meals on Wheels of Lancaster to interview us and share our story. We are so excited about all that is happening at Meals on Wheels of Lancaster and we want to keep you in the loop. For your viewing pleasure, we have four short segments from WGAL’s Community Connection: A Behind the Scenes Look at Meals on Wheels of Lancaster, which originally aired on December 19th, 2018. Take a look at these exclusive interviews with volunteers and staff to learn more about we do, how we do it, the impact we have, and future developments!

The second segment highlights our Executive Director, Kevin Ressler, as he discusses the significant relationship between social isolation, food insecurity and what a positive impact home-delivered meals can have.

In this segment, learn about our volunteer Joanne’s inspiration for her commitment to Meals on Wheels. Joanne is a staple around the community. You can often find her volunteering in many capacities and she always does so cheerily and with a hearty laugh. Joanne has been volunteering since 1994 and has shown up here religiously to ensure our neighbors are fed with both a social interaction and food security. We all owe Joanne a debt for the blessings she gives!

The fourth and final segment of WGAL’s Community Connection features Meals on Wheels of Lancaster’s Executive Director, Kevin Ressler, who details some of the big (and some of the small) developments taking place at our organization.
